Role: Technical Documentation & Mechanical Engineer (Junior)
Richmond, BC
Overview:
This role combines technical documentation ownership with hands-on mechanical engineering support.
The primary focus of this position is the creation, improvement, and long-term maintenance of global technical documentation.
This position reports to the Mechanical Lead and works closely with Marketing and the Process & Quality team.
Responsibilities – technical Documentation:
- Create and maintain installation manuals
- Develop and maintain website technical content
- Create and update sales technical guides
- Generate drawings, diagrams and schematics
- Assist in creation of installation and training videos
- Manage document revisioning and audits
- Support document control and revision processes
- Build documentation templates and standards
- Maintain the technical documentation database
Responsibilities – Mechanical Engineering:
- Create manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Support maintenance-of-line product updates
- Build and test prototypes in workshop
- Provide 3D models and visuals for documentation
- Support Mechanical Engineering team overflow
Success After 12 Months
The successful candidate will have spearheaded the creation of a complete installation manual from concept to release and established documentation processes.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Early career engineering experience
- Strong written and visual communication skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong attention to detail and organization
Assets
- Adobe InDesign / Creative Suite
- Lighting or architectural products experience
