Steffian Bradley Architects were commissioned by Pathology Hub/Health Services Laboratories for the complete refurbishment of The Halo building at Kings Cross, London. A former mixed use office building, the main entrance now opens up to a reception area with a clean design aesthetic to access healthcare organizations and laboratories throughout the building’s 11 floors and sub-level lab facilities. Visitors to “The Hub” are greeted at the illuminated reception counter framed by an expansive illuminated wall with a blue abstract print to create a focal interest in the open foyer. Cooledge TILE was specified to address the lighting requirements for the reception counter and large luminous wall to ensure transmission of a uniformly high quality of light through printed acrylic graphics and ultimately enable the design vision for the space to be realized.
