First impressions are critical in the competitive Chicago leasing marketplace. 550 W Washington was built in 2000 and the tenant/visitor lobby experience had become dated. The building’s owners wanted something fresh and timeless.
Shive-Hattery designed a luminous surface overlaid with a geometric metal pattern for the walls as a textural backdrop using Cooledge TILE Interior as the light source. Contrasting the illuminated walls with dark cherry finishes and a resurfaced reception/security desk provides intuitive wayfinding for visitors as they enter the building.
