Are you a logistics professional with a passion for optimizing global supply chains? We are seeking a Global Import/Export Specialist to oversee the seamless movement of goods across borders. In this role, you will manage the entire import/export process, ensuring materials and products are delivered on time, in full, and in compliance with international regulations. This position involves collaborating with internal teams (logistics, sourcing, finance) and external partners (brokers, suppliers, and transporters). The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and adept at problem-solving, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management. This role offers a unique early start time (5:00 AM PST), allowing you to work effectively with international partners and finish your workday earlier than most. Key Responsibilities
- Logistics Operations Management: Optimize inbound and outbound transportation processes, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and couriers to secure favorable terms and reliable service.
- Import/Export Planning: Coordinate international shipments, develop efficient routing, and oversee bookings and documentation.
- Documentation Preparation: Generate and review customs and shipping documents to ensure smooth movement of goods.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to local and international trade regulations, including accurate classification of goods under HTS and other codes.
- Issue Resolution: Collaborate with the Order Management team to address and resolve delivery issues promptly.
- Shipment Tracking: Maintain accurate shipment records, provide status updates, and ensure timely deliveries.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align schedules and provide logistical solutions to support business objectives.
- Market Insights: Monitor industry trends, rate changes, and regulatory updates to inform operational strategies.
- Performance Monitoring: Track key logistics metrics, analyze performance data, and recommend improvements.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the organization’s go-to expert for transportation and logistics inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in international freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field (internships considered).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field preferred.
Relevant certifications are an asset:
- CTCS: Certified Trade Compliance Specialist
- CSCP/CLTD: Certified Supply Chain Professional/Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution
- SCMP: Supply Chain Management Professional
- Knowledge: Advanced understanding of North American and European logistics, customs, and export control regulations.
